CHiPs: a new project!
I've been thinking for so many years but I never found the right idea! But finally something got in my head! In this period am re-watching all the episodes of the TV series "CHiPs", so I decided to make replicas on scale 1:18 of the two mythical Kawasaki 900 used by John Baker and Frank Poncharello in the famous TV series. I know there are plastic models on the market on scale 1:12 and therefore not proportionate to my car collection. That's why I decided to realize them using a variety of 1:18 scale motorbikes (for exactly 4 distinct models) and combining the various pieces I should get a good result. The starting point is a model of the Kawasaki 750 produced by Solido: from this model I will definitely use the chassis, the wheels, the handlebars and the front fork (I do not think to use the engine, but we will see it during the works). To this model, I will add elements from an Harley Davidson Road King produced by Maisto (the flashing lights, the windshield, the footsteps), from a Kawasaki 1000 produced by the Motormax (the tank, the rear fender, the saddle, the bags, the siren and maybe the engine) and a Norton produced by Guiloy (the mufflers and the manifolds). At the moment I have already ordered all the models and I'm waiting to receive them (I should receive it all by May 10th), then I will start immediately with my new project. Meanwhile, I've been trying to create a photomontage of how every single bike should come: the result makes me hope for the success of this crazy idea, so enjoy the photo and stay tuned to see the work in progress of these two motorcycles. Of course, I accept tips!
