Finally, in the weekend I bought 2 great movies released on the theaters some months ago: I'm talking about "Transformers" and "Death Proof" (translated in "A Prova di Morte").
   The first movie has a passable story, good actors (especially Megan Fox) and mind-blowing special effects. However, in my opinion, this movie has a problem: it�s a big mistake to make the humans the main characters of the story, because every watcher want to see the robots, like in the original cartoon series. But later, we come to understand why this is so: it�s a story that gives humanity too much credit, that despite our tendencies for great destruction, we�re also very capable of great heroism (but by now this is a foregone conclusion for a lot of movies, like "Indipendence Day", "V - Visitors", etc). Anyway, the other element that characterize the movie is "the cars": they used great cars, especially the new Camaro Concept used for the Autobots "Bumblee", this car is so awesome and I think I will add it ASAP in my diecast collection).
   Instead, the second movie, in my opinion, is incredible: it's a perfect mix of the old classical movies produced in the '70 (but it's logical... initially the movie was inserted like an indipendent episode in a movie called "Grindhouse", to celebrate the cheap theaters that in the '70 broadcast two or three B-movies with a single ticket). The story is very simple and it turns around a group of beatiful girls and a man called "Stuntman Mike", but the main characters of the movie are the cars... and when I say "cars" I mean "typical '70 muscle cars"!! Yes, in the movie there are great cars like the '70 Chevy Nova SS, the '70 Dodge Challenger, the '69 Dodge Charger and the '72 Ford Mustang Grande. There are also a lot of citations to old famous movies like "Vanishing Point", "Gone in 60 seconds" (the original, not the remake), "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry", "Bullit", "Convoy", etc. It's superfluos to say that I will realize in 1:18 scale the cars used by Stuntman Mike, so stay tuned!!
